  OSHA inspection rights and employer defenses to citations are explained in downloadable manuals and CD-ROMs.  These manuals also explain general contractor and subcontractor liability on multi-employer construction sites.  They are handy tools for safety and risk management professionals and anyone having primary responsibility for dealing with OSHA.

• Abacus Construction Index,  Abacus Construction Index,  is a directory of 2,000 recommended websites and online documents for UK construction professionals. This is a project which I started after retiring in 2000 as Director General of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

• AllBusiness.com - This site is intended for owners of small businesses, and provides employment and human resources guides, advice, articles, downloadable forms and sample agreements.

• Department of Labor - Provides text and explanatory materials for laws, regulations and executive orders administered by the U.S. Department of Labor.  Includes minimum wage laws and overtime pay, family and medical leave, unions, plant closings and layoffs, lie detectors, garnishment and discrimination.

• International Cost Engineering Council - Lists labor rates organized by country and construction trade.

• Manta  -  Manta is a destination for premium business and management information such as company profiles, financial management systems, and market research reports from leading content publishers such as D&B, Datamonitor and Snapdata.
